Photoshop, every Photo Editor’s DreamShop :
Photoshop is one of the programs to get it to 20 years of age. There are loads of new features in the latest edition making it worthwhile: Edge Detection, Content-Aware Fill, Puppet Warp, 64-bit for Mac, enhanced 3D features, brush and painting enhancements, enhanced HDR, auto Lens Correction , Bridge, and numerous remaining small enhancements. My short list of features isn’t quite in any specific order, but here it is….
Edge Detection: The Distil filter was dropped out of CS4, although it was accessible as an extra installation. (Rumour has it that the new Render Engine wasn’t prompt for CS4 and was pushed back to CS5.) The newer extra filter got a lot of bad reviews, it was really due to improper utilisation. Luckily, Photoshop CS5 does a better job than the filter. Option of selecting edges, much as frizzy textile, has ever been a difficulty. This tool works for some strong selections, but it’s not for every individual.
Content-Aware Fill: This particular feature tends to get the “oohs” and “aahs” from the media! This feature copies areas around the selection being deleted, and creates fill where there was none. Depending on the background, the results can be surprising, but similar to Edge Detection, it doesn’t work properly on every image selection. Most demonstrations lean to show the feature at its optimum. Images of abstract nature work best, but those with repetitive objects tend to fail. Luckily, the difficulty areas can be reselected and reprocessed until the desirable results are obtained.
